Resort Facts           Piste Map

HAFJELL:

Hafjell is one of Norways top resorts and is held in high regard throughout the skiing world. Visitors from all over the globe visit this resort, however it is a market the British tourist has yet to discover. Because of this the slopes are uncluttered, lift queues are non-existent, even in school holiday weeks! With a wonderfully designed piste map and extremely technically laid out slopes for people of all abilities. Hafjell is really a jewel in the crown!

Beginners: (5/5)

This resort is ideal for beginners, the resort has a lift system built to match the number of beds on offer in the resort, the result being very empty slopes. The runs are wide and tree-lined, giving a beginner space to turn safely in their own time.
The beginner slopes are situated at the base of the slopes right next to the main ski centre, making ski lessons easy to get to.

Intermediates: (5/5)

Hafjell is a great place for intermediates. The lack of lift queues, means your time on the slopes in maximised.
The uncluttered slopes and wide pistes mean you have time and space to improve your technique... and have plenty of fun!

Advanced: (3/5)

We have many guests that have skied all over the world, and one of the things they comment on the most , is the space on piste that Norway can offer. If an advanced skiier wants to test their skills they usually like to go fast! This isn't always possible in many of the overcrowded resorts in Europe, but in Hafjell to be the only skier on a run some days is not unusual.
The quality of the snow is likened to that of Canada and North america, the low temperatures especially in December and January result in a very special snow, cold, dry powder and lots of it!
The Kjus race school has their home in Hafjell, and a specially designed slope, by the man himself is located here, with race schools from all over Europe coming to train. This slope is open to everybody to test their wit and technique. For those amongst you we suggest a ski away day to Kvitfjell, where you can test yourself on one of the most technical downhill courses on the World Cup circuit.

Families: (5/5)

Norway is very family orientated, and all its ski resorts reflect this.
We would be as bold as too say Hafjell is perfect for families. For children of all ages it offers parents peace of mind.
Until you visit Norway you will never realise how safe it is for children.
Barneland is a new facility in Hafjell, where children can play indoors and outdoors in a safe controlled environment. For a 5 day week prices start at as little as £5.70 per hour we couldn't reccommend a better place for your family ski holiday!

Snowboarders: (5/5)

(For the benefits of learning to snowboard in Hafjell, please see beginner section above.)
Norway is excellent for snowboarders, Hafjell in particular. The reason for this is the Norwegians love their winter sports, with most Norwegians taking part in every discipline, they don't care if you are on skis, boards, toboggans even! This means the resort is very geared to skiers and boarders alike. There are chairlfts and a gondola system to the top of the mountains for those that dislike the drag lifts. The terrain park has been designed by a team of experts with 5 jumps, 3 big jumps, 1 super big jump, 2 halfpipes and 8 rails it is a great place to practice your skills. Some of Norway's best athletes train here, with big air, boarder cross and ski cross being held here frequently throughout the season there is always someone to watch!

Cross Country: (4/5)

Hafjell is a perfect location for cross country skiing, whether you want to incorporate it into your alpine ski holiday, or do cross country for your entire stay.
Hafjell has a plateau at the top, with over 300km of marked, prepared cross country trails. The scenery is truly beautiful, and a map details easy to difficult routes.
NWT offer a taster day for those that would like to try those skinny skis!
