Accommodation: Prices: Activities: Gålå. Gala was a new resort for NWTseason 07/08. This lovely resort is part of our new Lillehammer Valley range. Once you arrive at your accommodation everything is accessible on your skis - a unique trait to this resort. Gala offers a great winter package, in breath taking surroundings offering beautiful views of Lake Gala and the Jotunheimen National Park .
Beginners: (4/5) Gala is a lovely place to learn to ski, typically uncrowded, with wide pistes it offers a safe, unthreathening environment. All ski schools have English speaking instructors. The winter activity range this resort offers is great for beginners wanting an all round holiday Intermediates: (3/5) If you are a skier/boarder that can turn and confidently head off for the day, Gala is a pretty good spot to do that, with skiing on 2 sides of the valley, yet 2 minutes apart, there is plenty to investigate. Advanced: (2/5) Gala has raised a 3 times, world champion Telemark skier, and can boast some fantastic terrain for alpine and Telemark skiing. Being the most Northerly of our Lillehammer Valley resorts Gala has an impressive snow record, with regular fresh dumps of powder. The lack of lift queues and wide open spaces mean those advanced amongst you enjoy a full and bracing days skiing.
Families: (4/5) Gala is a great resort for families. Children have access to all types of ski school and childrens clubs. With regular activities arranged for children, it really is a family focused resort. The hotel offers an outdoor swimming pool, and childrens area ideal for any little trolls that still have energy left to burn! Snowboarders: (3/5) There is a great park in Gala, the resort often holds big air competitions throughout the season. The snow record means the off-piste can become a natural terrain for jumps and drop offs. Beginner snowboarders enjoy the space on the slopes, leaving room to turn.
Cross Country: (5/5) With over 600km of prepared tracks, Gala offers some outstanding, magical cross country, in the heart of the Peer Gynt Ski Region. Exclusive to Gala is the availability of door to door ski tours, stopping at hotels across the region. Your luggage is carried forward for you, so all you have to do is enjoy the view!
